2015 MOA Mileage Contest- The last word!

Good morning,

I collected a few more forms on Saturday and had a few more members report their mileage as they mailed their own in. I have checked the forms, signatures etc. One item that was frequently omitted is our MOA chartered club number which is #17. So if you are mailing your own in, please include that in the line for our club number I realize we have club members outside of Indiana but for this MOA contest they count you where your residence is. ( Sorry Rick and Deb!)

I have accounted for 30 members who have returned their form at this point or mailed in their own I have 14 members who started and are unaccounted for at this time.: I have run out of time to collect forms but you can still mail your own in to the MOA but it must be Nov 11th. If you have your ending mileage and are self reporting just drop me a note or I will see it in March when they publish the information in the MOA Magazine

BMW MOA Mileage Contest 2015

Good morning,

As Club minder of the odometer club, its time to remind everyone that the 2015 MOA Mileage Contest is coming to a close this weekend. ( MOA Not the BMWMCINDY contest!) The 2015 MOA mileage contest closes on Sunday October 11th, So put in a few more miles if you like and arrange to have your form completed and witnessed. If you started the contest and completed a form the only way to get the coveted participation pin is to complete the ending form. That way you can continue to add to your coveted collection of MOA Mileage Contest Pins ( who has the most?) Hopefully we can climb the participation ladder and pass a few other states this year.

The ending form is in the most recent edition of Owners News (ON) or you can also get the form on line from the BMWMOA website.

If you have questions please drop me a line or give me a call 701.799.8182

I will again be looking for volunteers to help collect forms as they do not have to be mailed in to MOA until November 1th. I will collect the forms , record the mileage and mail all the forms into MOA. If you mail in your own form I would appreciate an email with your BMW Model information and your ending mileage.

Guidelines for New Club Logo

Some members have requested a redesign of the club logo to better reflect the club. A committee was formed to coordinate the submission and selection process. Committee members are Bob Conley, Wayne Garrison and Theresia Shearer. They are looking to you, the club members, to submit new logos for consideration.

The current club logo is the checkered flag and a top hat surrounded by an oval. The web site banner reflects the requirements of the BMW Corporation when displaying the roundel or using the trademarked “BMW”.  The club’s logo can be used independent of the roundel and the name “BMW.”

In redesigning the logo please consider the following guidelines:

  • Should show something to represent the city of Indianapolis (we are the Indianapolis BMW Club)
  • Should show something that could represent motorcycling or motorcyclists
  • Cannot use the BMW Roundel (BMW corporate rules)
  • Cannot include the club name (BMW corporate rules)
  • Black and white to keep production costs down and for better reproduction
  • Should be simple and not cluttered

Prize for the winning submission – to be determined

Submissions due by September 1st.

Judging Process
The committee will select 3 designs they believe best represent the club and meet the guidelines. They will submit the designs to the Board of Directors who will determine the method to select the final design.

Following is another example of a logo (the moto man riding a guitar) that is used by the Nashville, TN club. It’s shown in the format required to also show a roundel and the trademarked name “BMW’.

only 1 and 1/2 days left to ride this year

There is only 1 and 1/2 days left to ride this year.
Be sure to enter your mileage ridden in the year 2014 in the web site. Enter both bmw and non bmw miles, the web site will calcuate the total.
You do not need to use the “,”.
Remember everone riding over 10,000 miles gets some kind of “ataboy or atagirl”.
If you have any problems let me know.
Hope all you all have a super great new year.
Wayne and Peggy
