April 2016 Monthly Meeting Minutes

The Club’s April 2016 monthly meeting was held at Dale’s Family Restaurant on S. Thompson Road in Marion County Indiana.

Approximately 20 attendees enjoyed options from the menu for lunch, as it rained cats and dogs outside.

President Margie Ledgerwood opened the meeting at 2:30 PM, thanking members for their attendance.

The next meeting was announced to be hosted by Johnathon Fishburn at 3417 Pinetop Dr. Indianapolis on May 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Please register online so the host will know the number of attendees.

The following rallies were cited: Sturgis MI: May 6-8; Paynetown Campout: May 13-15; European Riders Rally-Burkesville, KY-hosted by the BMW Motorcycle Club of Nashville; May 20-22; The Cass WV Rally; May 27-28.

Margie reminded members that Andy Clark has the Photo Tag game in progress.   It’s a good way to discover Indiana.

The club is still looking for a host for meetings during the month of September and November. Please contact Margie if you can host a meeting either at your home or another site.

Bob Conley announced that the August meeting will be held at the historic Propylaeum on 1410 N. Delaware St. Indianapolis. on August 7, 2016. Details will be posted on the Clubs website.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45.

March 2016 Monthly Meeting Minutes

The BMW Club of Indianapolis held its monthly meeting at the home of Terry and Lew Mumford on March 20, 2016.

Homemade chili was served along with many fine dishes contributed by the over 25 attendees.

After lunch, President Margie Ledgerwood called the meeting to order. Margie and Jack Borsos briefed the attendees on the progress of his grandson, Darius, and thanked those who have participated in the fund raising process supporting his recovery.

The attendees were informed that the Board of Directors will meet at Shapiro’s on Saturday, March 26 to consider the proposed annual budget and other pertinent matters.

Margie reported that the calendar is open for April, September, and November monthly meetings, and invited members to volunteer to host. She advised a meeting may be arranged at sites other than your home.

Members were reminded that the Spring Paynetown Campout is scheduled for May 13-15. Registration for the event may be made on the club’s web site.

Margie advised that Rich Nathan is seeking volunteers to work a triathlon on May 21 or 22, which conflicts with the Burkesville Rally.

It was also announced that Andy Clark will act as administrator for the 2016 photo tag game.

Vice President Wayne Garrison reminded the attendees to consider and vote on proposals for the Club’s logo. The deadline to vote on the website is March 25.

There was general discussion about arranging for embroidery of the logo on member’s garments.

President Ledgerwood thanked the Mumfords for hosting and adjourned the meeting.

January 2016 Monthly Meeting Minutes

 

President Margie Ledgerwood hosted the monthly club meeting on January 23, 2016. Margie hosted the meeting at her home and served tasty main courses of home made Chicken Taco Soup and Ham and Beans. Those attending brought many complementary sides.

After lunch, President Ledgerwood called the meeting to order at 2:13 PM. She reminded everyone of the annual Award Banquet date, February 13. The deadline to reserve your seat is the end of month. Many attendees win door prizes which exceed the value of the cost of admission to the banquet.

Monthly meeting commitments were accepted as follows: May: Johnathan Fishburn, June: the Bernhardt’s, August: the Conley’s, October: Harold Patterson, December: the Reinholt’s. Dates and details will be listed on the club web site calendar.

The Paynetown spring campout will be on May 13-14. Vice President Garrison commented you can stay both or either night and that you need to sign up so we may reserve sufficient camping spots.

Several rally dates were announced with will be included on the club calendar.

Election Board of Directors:

An election was held to fill two Directors positions, who’s three year terms expire at the end of March 2016. Harold Patterson and Dennis Shelley hold those positions.  Joe Hochderffer, Chairman of the nominating committee named the following nominees: Richard Snodgress, Mark Reed, Dennis Shelly, and Harold Patterson. There were no nominations from the floor. Ballots were distributed for voting.

Wayne Garrison presented a report from the committee considering adopting a new logo. Previously submitted logo concepts were posted at this meeting for review by those in attendance.  There will be vote by the membership conducted on the website in March. The existing logo will be considered as well as those submitted during the past several months. The President announced that the logo receiving the most votes will be adopted.

The results of the election for the Board of Directors was announced: Dennis Shelly and Harold Patterson were elected to serve three year terms commencing in April 2016 which will expire at the end of March in 2019.

Banquet Slide Show Deadline
