Monthly meeting minutes

December 2019

The December meeting was hosted by Archey and Theresia Shearer in their home on December 7, 2019.

The club provided turkey and ham.  Members brought in a variety of delicious side dishes and desserts.  We know how to cook and ride great motorcycles! 

Joe Hochderffer brought the meeting to order at 7:15pm by thanking our hosts, the Shearers.

We did not have any new members present.

Next meeting is being hosted by Margie Ledgerwood at her home on January 25, 2019 at 1:00pm.

Joe reminds members that the Board of Directors has two open seats.  Jim Thatcher (who is standing in for Andy Clark) and Richard Snodgrass terms are ending.

Joe is requesting a Board meeting 30 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled 1:00pm meeting.

If anyone is interested in hosting a meeting in 2020 please let Joe know.

The Mileage Award Banquet is February 15, 2020. Cocktail hour to start at 6:00pm and Dinner at 7:00pm. Cost is $35.00 per person.  Joe is accepting pictures in either an email or thumb drive so that we can enjoy them at the Banquet.

Annual membership renewals are due by the end of December 2019.  Dues are $25.00 per household, and if paid by the end of the year your name will be entered into the prize drawing.

Pete Mikolaitis has been named Regional Manager for the MOA.  Michael “Rock” Shannon speaks to group about growing pains with BMW and changes within the MOA.  Ted Moyer (MOA Executive Director) is looking into the future to help the growth of the MOA.  The MOA currently has 25,000 members.

Joe adjourned the meeting and we started opening presents.

September Monthly Meeting

September monthly meeting

The September meeting was hosted at Webb and Cindy Bernhardt’s home on September 22, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Webb and Cindy provided grilled chicken and members pitched in additional goodies to round out the meal.

Joe Hochderffer brought the meeting to order at 2:22pm. He thanked Webb and Cindy for hosting the meeting and for making us feel welcome.

Joe invited new members to introduce themselves and the club meet Madison Clardy (daughter of Chris Clardy)

Business discussed

Our thoughts go out to Barb Shelley as she mends from surgery.

Wayne Garrison plans to collect club memorabilia from the BMW shop before the end of October.

We are currently unable to change our photo ID’s on the website. Details to come as the kinks are worked out.

We are looking at potential sites for the Annual Awards Banquet If you have any ideas, please contact
Joe H. or Margie Ledgerwood.

Peter mentioned that he was happy with his service at the Middletown, Ohio BMW dealership.

No further information has been released as to let us know the plans for an Indianapolis dealer.

Our next meeting is being hosted by Harold Patterson on October 12, 2019 at 4:00pm. He plans to have a bonfire for those who stay after the meeting. Please bring a lawn chair and a side dish. He plans to have either ribs or brats.

April 2018 Monthly Meeting Minutes

April 2018 Monthly Meeting Minutes
 
The meeting was held at Mike and Mamie William’s home on April 14, 2018.
We enjoyed homemade soups and carved turkey breast plus all the delicious
Goodies that club members brought in to the pitch in.
 
Joe Hochderffer brought the meeting to order at 2:00pm.  He thanked the Williams for hosting our club meeting in their home.  Wayne and Peggy brought a guest with them, Eric who is interested in joining the club.  No new members were present.
 
Business discussed:
Joe appointed Kelly Hochderffer to be club Secretary, “I accept” I replied.
A special thank you to Bob Conley for doing a great job for all of these years.
 
Joe welcomes club members to feel free to approach him with comments and
concerns as he looks forward to being our new President.
 
Jay Zach and Sam Beery were recognized as new Board members.
 
Rich Nathan talked about Triathlon volunteering opportunities coming up this
riding season.  He encouraged the club to refer to the website for future dates
and for emails as to specific needs.
 
Greg Sickmeier reminded the club of the upcoming Memorial and Fundraiser
for Floyd “Pop” Dreyer on 4/21/18 to start at 3:00pm.
 
Mileage forms are going to be collected at Falcone from 10:30 to 1:00pm on Saturday April 28, 2018.  If you plan to mail them yourself, Mileage forms must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2018.
 
Our club is not having a May monthly meeting.
 
Greg Sickmeier is looking into possibly hosting the June meeting, details to come.
 
Don’t forget to plan for the European Riders Rally in Burkesville, Ky. on 5/17-20/2018.
 
Wayne Garrison presented to group:
Please remember to register on the website to camp at Paynetown, and for MOA tent
space at the Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa.  Packing and utilizing unused space on your
bike, so you can carry more stuff.  Thank you Wayne for sharing.
 
Joe thanked the Williams for their food and fellowship.  He adjourned the meeting at 2:38pm.  28 members were in attendance.

March Minutes

March 2018 Monthly Meeting Minutes
The meeting was held in the “Man Cave” at Don and Betty Garriety’s  home,  on March 18, 2018.
We enjoyed a great lunch of barbecue sandwiches with all the delicious pitch in fixings.
Joe Hochderffer called the meeting to order at 3:20pm and thanked the gracious host for providing a great meeting place.  Joe recognized new members and welcomed back some of the old familiar faces.
Business discussed:

  • April meeting to be held at Mike Williams home 4/14/18 at 12:00 to 4:00.                                                                                                                
  • Our club needs meeting hosts for May, June and November.                                                                                  
  • Joe presented a flyer on TCLOCS and safety awareness, reminding members of seeing and being seen.      
  • Rally events were mentioned and can be found listed on the website.                                                                                                                                                                                                          
  • Greg Sickmeier talked about IRMA and the generous contributions that went toward the 33rd Historical marker featuring Floyd “Pop” Dreyer.  The dedication is April 21, 2018 at 3:00pm at Dreyer Honda.  Thank you Greg for keeping us informed about the Memorial planned for Mr. Dreyer.                                       
  • Wayne and Peggy Garrison have reserved the weekend of 5/11-13/18 at Paynetown for camping.  Please let them know if you plan on reserving a space for the weekend.                                                               
  • Wayne talked about the BMW Nationals held in Des Moines, Iowa on 7/12-14/18.  Please contact Wayne if you plan on attending and need tent space.  Please volunteer if you plan to attend the Nationals.        
  • RA Rally is 7/19/18 .  Kathy Zak asked the members if anyone who is attending the RA, would they be interested in camping together.  Please contact Kathy if you are interested.

Joe asked for members to reconsider hosting the empty meeting months of May, June or November and provided a tid-bit about “Pop”.  Joe thanked our hosts for their generosity and adjourned the meeting at 3:48.
