According to a New York Times report today, Audi is about to acquire Ducati. Financial analysts don’t think this is a good move since there is little overlap in operation of the car and motorcycle operations. Why then? BMW is a competitor and BMW makes motorcycles as we well know. Audi may feel it needs motorcycles to be comparable to BMW. The deal may be announced this Wednesday.
