The MOA mileage contest officially started on 4-12 but it’s not too late to sign up. The Indy BMW Cub and Falcone Power Sports are hosting a turn in your MOA 2014 Mileage contest form at the BMW dealership Saturday May 10th from 10-3. Come on in and have Gene, Mike Williams or Wayne Garrison sign your form or turn in your completed form. The club is providing some refreshments and Gene will have coffee brewing. Anyone turning their form in or getting their form signed will spin the BMW Wheel of Fortune for a chance to take home a t-shirt from Gene. Last year we had 34 finishers from our club so I would like to see if Indiana can improve from 10th this year. So print off the form from the MOA website or take it out of your April ON magazine No cost to you and everyone who completes the process in October gets a participation pin. It’s about the number of riders not the miles! Doug Johnson has added the event to our Club Calendar too.

Thanks
Rick

2014 SPRING PAYNETOWN CAMPOUT

For those who have not attended a Paynetown campout I thought I would give you a little information as to what to expect.

The campground in located in the Paynetown state recreation area located on Lake Monroe.

It is 6.5 miles south of Bloomington on highway 446.

You can arrive as early as noon on Friday.

When you enter the park there is a $5.00 charge to get into the park. Once you are in the park, you may enter and leave using your camp site pass. You do not have to go to the campground office to pick up a site tag.

I will have the site tags to hand out.

Each site tag will cover 2 motorcycles when leaving and entering the park. The gate people usually just wave you on through.

Each site can occupy 2 tents. Showers and restrooms are located within 20 yards of the camp site.

I have reserved sites, 5,7,9,11,13,23,25,and 29, at this point. I wil get more if needed.

See map below.

We are not really required to camp on the exact site.

You may camp anywhere you wish with in the above numbers, for the most part we gather around 5,7,9,29,25,23.

We usually move picnic tables together for a group fire ring.

Ice, firewood, drinks, and food stuff are available at the camp store. The store opens at 7 or 8 in the morning and has coffee.

Pizza, subs, and salads are available for deliver from the Trailhead.

In the past this has worked out GREAT.

One or two miles north of the entrance there are 2 restaurants.

The closes one is the scenic view, lots of good food, and they do have carry out.

The second one is the cabin restaurant and lounge, THIS ONE SELLS BEER, but may be limited on selection.

The campout cost is $16.00 per tent for 1 or 2 nights, payable to me; I have paid the reservation fees.

No food or drinks are included in the camping cost.

When you arrive you may want to check to see if fire wood or ice may be needed for the group.

As wood and ice is a group cost type of thing.

On Saturday there may be group rides, but at this point I personally don’t have any rides planed.

There are zip line runs at Explore Brown County, just south of Gnaw Bone, IN. They are located on Mt Liberty road 2 miles south of Gnaw Bone.

The Screamer Tour! Is 1220’ Twin Racing Zips | 1220′ & 420′ Twin Zips the cost is $35 each / $30 each for a group of 20 or more.

The first run is at 10am and they are about 1-1/2 hour long.

To make the 10am run we need to be there at 9:30.

Parking is on gravel and a “Duce & a ½” will take you to the launching point and there is about a 5 min walk back to the bikes. This information was provided by the person at the Explore Brown County

You can sign up for the campout by going to the club web site and then to calendar and clicking on June 13 “paynetown campout” YOU MUST BE LOGINED TO SEE THE FORM.

Enter the number of people coming and submit.

If you have questions please feel free to call me 317-201-4952.
