Chili Cook Off November 16th!
Dear Clubmembers:
It’s time to start thinking about renewing your membership and signing up for the annual Awards Banquet next February.
Membership renewal is a simple two-step process.
1. Review/update your personal contact information on the website.
2. Pay for your dues by either check or credit card via PayPal. For 2015, the Club has decided to drop the $1.00 handling fee when using PayPal to simplify the dues payment process.
Key dates to remember…
Membership dues are due January 1st and are considered late after this date. The grace period for late dues renewal ends February 15th. As an incentive, members who renew on or before January 1 will be entered in a drawing. The winner will receive a $25 check and, thus, your membership will have a net cost of $0.
Paid reservations for the Awards Banquet are due January 31st. The Awards Banquet is February 14th at The Palms in Plainfield.
Late renewals result in considerable additional work for our volunteers. Please pay on time. If payment is not received by the due dates you will be dropped from the directory and lose access to the website and the Yahoo discussion list. If you have a change of mind later and wish to rejoin the club, the reinstatement amount will be $40, which includes that calendar year’s dues. Remember that participation on the Yahoo discussion list requires an active Indy BMW club membership.
You may pay for your dues and Banquet reservations at the same time or you can return to website at a later date for a second payment. If you are going to pay by mailing a check please allow adequate delivery time as payments must be received by the due dates, not just the postmarked by those dates.
Be sure you are logged into the website with your personal login and password before renewing your club registration. If you have any questions or problems, please contact me (Doug Johnson), Jim Brown, or Theresia Shearer, or you can reply to this note.
Thanks!

OK MOTORCYCLE BUDDIES IT IS TIME FOR THE 2014 YEAR END MOA MILEAGE TURN IN
The last official day to record your mileage is this Sunday October 12th. The MOA forums are in the current MOA magazine as well as the MOA website. This Saturday October 18th, Falcone Powersports, Gene and Jeff have agreed to witness signatures on your forms.
Gene and Jeff will have end of season deals on a number of items in the store and in addition if you show up to have your form witnessed or turned in that day, you will have a chance to spin the Club BMW Wheel of Fortune for a give way item from Falcone Powersports.
This event is open to all BMW MOA Members as Jeff is sending out an email blast to BMW owners about the event too. (Club membership opportunity!!) The club is providing refreshments and Gene and the crew will have coffee on hand as well.
So plan to join us if you started the contest this spring!!! We need to finish with everyone who started this spring!
If can not make it to the shop forms can be brought to breakfast and gathered.
Again this year, I will be organizing a trip to the Springfield Mile. I order tickets in block for the mile and the short track race, which is held on Saturday night before the Mile.
The Races will be held on the weekend of Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31.
For those of you who have not previously attended, we ride over as a group Saturday, leaving Danville, Indiana about noon. We stay at the Mansion View Motel, across street from Governor’s mansion in Springfield. Prices are reasonable $60.00 plus tax for a double room. Most of us stay two nights and return home on Labor Day morning, which is a rain date, after breakfast. If you must, you can return home on Sunday after the Mile.
Cost to attend both races is approximately $60.00.
We have a great time, eating the legendary “Springfield Horseshoes” and we like to visit a little traditional Italian restaurant after the “Mile.”
I am going to order tickets on July 11. I will make the motel reservations the following week. If you want me to order for you, please contact me at rsconley@aol.com before that date. I’ll front the money for the tickets.
If you have not previously attended, this is a great spectator event. The race is historic, the winner was the national champion in olden days. Average qualification speeds over 100 mph on dirt. Rubbing, bumping and drafting; I’ve seen 6 lead changes in one lap.
Consider attending at least once, you will never forget it.
