Garmin VI

For those of you who have a Garmin VI there is this from the Lonestar BMW club.

> If any of you have recently purchased (last year or so) a BMW NAV VI and that device has decided to some weird stuff while you are using it….. contact Garmin support and let them know… they will likely send you a replacement NAV VI.
>
> I purchased the NAV VI when I bought the Grand America about a year ago. About 4 months ago the unit started doing “random weird stuff”. While running a route the display would randomly zoom in and out, the motorcycle symbol wouldn’t stay in the middle of the screen or it would jump from screen to screen.
>
> And then other times I would work find with no issues.
>
> I tried resets of all kinds, changing the settings on Basecamp and the unit, and minimizing way points…none worked. Out of frustration I called Gamin (I have to be really frustrated to call Garmin support). I didn’t even get the first description out when the tech interrupted me and asked for the serial number and said he was sending me a replacement. Known problem caused by defective touch screen.
>
> So…. Sent my NAV VI off today..should have the replacement next week.

We will all miss you Andy
