Euro Rally Information from the Nashville BMW Club

Dear Motorcycle Riding Enthusiast,

It’s time for an update on The BMW Motorcycle Club of Nashville’s European Riders Rally coming up May 18-21.

Important Dates if you haven’t yet registered:

April 30 is the last day to early register online at special low prices.
May 14 is the last day to register online at regular prices.
We have been hard at work and wanted to share with you just a few of the things to expect at this years rally.
Thursday registration opens at noon.  Check in and get your wristband, information packet, and door prize tickets.  Take a minute to say hello to old friends and be welcomed to the rally.  Explore the site, get a coffee or lemonade and see what’s on the door prize tables.  You’ll want to set up camp, park your camper, or settle into one of the areas comfortable lodging facilities.  Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to the pavilion for a bonfire and music, or choose to watch a movie with popcorn in the Ag Center.

Planning on coming in on Friday?  That’s great!  Registration will open at 8am.  Make sure to be there by 11am to participate in the guided Poker Run Ride.  We’ll travel some of the prettiest roads in the area, including a stop at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort for lunch (on your own dime).  Along the way you’ll have opportunities to draw cards to make the best 5-card stud hand you can.  The best hand at the end of the ride will win a fabulous prize.  At 4pm our Board of Directors invites all other club’s board members, members, or interested parties to an open roundtable discussion to share ideas and gather information from each other.

Saturday the day starts with an all-you-care-to-eat pancake breakfast hosted by the Burkseville order of the Eastern Star (a $5 ticket can be purchased at the door). Get your morning stretch on with a professionally taught “Yoga for the Motorcyclist” class.  Leave your lycra and mat at home, but come prepared to learn how a few stretches and strength building exercises can make your day in the saddle much more enjoyable.  Choose to join one of the guided street or dual-sport rides, or explore the area on your own.  Be sure to check our website for the gpx files.  Our good friends and sponsor, Bloodworth Motorcycles, will provide a tasty lunch and host a seminar later in the afternoon.  Other presentations include trips to Peru and Ecuador (times TBA).  Want to test your skills in Motorcycle Games?  It’s all fun, and the winners will be recognized at the closing ceremony.  Come to dinner hungry for one of the best grilled steak or chicken dinners ever, and don’t forget to try the bourbon-mushroom sauce.  The evening will conclude with closing ceremonies and live entertainment.  And, of course, sharing stories around the bonfires with old and new friends.

Interested?  We hope you are.  Please visit www.bmwmcon.org to register and keep up with changes and additions to the ERR.

We may not be the biggest rally you attend this year, but we want to be your favorite.

See you in Burkseville,

Rod McDonald and Cindy Duncanson

Deb Lower

Just FYI

As we do during the January Indy club meeting the members vote for two board of directors. As we are a chartered club of the BMW Owners of America (#17) they do the same and are currently in the election process. (BIG JOE disclaimer: I would never tell any one how to vote!) I would like to make you aware that  the Indy BMW club has a member who is running for board of directors of the BMW Owners of America her name is Deb Lower. Deb now lives in Colorado but remains an Indy Member. Deb is very generous with her time having chaired in one capacity or another at every national rally since have joined the club. If you are a member of the MOA please  consider voting this year postage on the ballot is prepaid so all it costs is your time to mark the ballot.

Stay safe
