The December meeting also is traditionally the Annual Christmas Party of the Indianapolis BMW Motorcycle Club.
As in the last several yeas the Party was hosted by Tracy and Galen Reinholt. The meeting was very well attended, and the assembly was treated to a sumptuous buffet featuring Jay’s fried Turkey and ham. Many great appetizers, deserts and side dishes were enjoyed.
President Margie Ledgerwood called the meeting to order after dinner. She thanked Tracy and Galen for hosting again this year and thanked Sam and Jay Beery for assisting in the endeavor.
The following announcements were made:
The January Club Meeting will be held at Margie Ledgerwood’s on Saturday January 23rd at 1:00 PM. The main course will be Ham and Beans. Recommended Side dishes include corn bread, fried potatoes, salads and deserts. The Board will meet at noon prior for the purpose of electing the club president for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, which commences in April 2016.
Members attending the January Monthly meeting will participate in the election of two Board Members to three-year terms.
During the January meeting we will also populate the club calendar with club meeting, rally and special event dates.
Attendees to monthly meetings were urged to RSVP on the club’s website or by other means at their earliest opportunity so hosts can prepare appropriately.
The Annual Awards Banquet will be held on February 13, 2016. You may register on the Club web site, and pay dues for 2016 concurrently. Members who pay dues by December 31, will be included in a drawing for a refund of their membership fee.
The Banquet will be held at the same location in Plainfield this year. The Cocktal hour will be from 6:00 till 7:00 PM. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM followed by the awards program. Members are encouraged to solicit door prizes from their favorite vendors. Please join us this year; you will have a great time.
Jack Borsos is at home recovering from surgery to install a pacemaker device. He said to have a beer from him; Katie suggested wine Keep Jack in your thoughts and prayers.
Director Wayne Garrison announced that the MOA headquarters has moved to South Carolina. (there is an article on this topic in the BMWMOA magazine this month.)
Director Dennis Shelly asked members interested in running for the Board to let any Board member know about their interest. The same hold true for members interested in running for President.
President Ledgerwood again thanked Tracy and Galen for hosting the meeting and thanked everybody for coming.
The meeting was adjourned and the white elephant gift exchange proceeded. Your humble secretary was gifted a small dead tree and a spent cartridge case.
Cheerfully submitted, and Merry Christmas
Robert Conley, Secretary
