April 20, 2013, Monthly Meeting Minutes

President Margie Ledgerwood called the meeting to order at 2:20 PM.

Margie extended thanks to Theresia and Archey Shearer for hosting the meeting.  There were approximately 30 members in attendance.

The new members in attendance were asked to introduce themselves.

Margie announced that a flea market-swap meet will be scheduled for this summer at Falcone Motorsports.  The club will not run a hot dog stand during the event as in the past.

Upcoming rallies and motorcycle races, which are on the club calendar were listed.  Several club members are planning to attend the European Riders Rally sponsored by the Nashville, TN BMW Motorcycle Club.

The Club’s campout at Paynetown is scheduled for June 7-9, 2013.  Members were urged to sign up for the event on the club website.

President Ledgerwood thanked Rick Hansen for his efforts in organizing the MOA Mileage Contest sign up event at Falcone Motorsports last weekend.  She also thanked Dennis Shelly for manufacturing the “Spin to Win” wheel and recognized the Dealership for donating T-shirts to the winners.  Jim Brown was recognized for posting his great photographs of the event.  Members who have not registered on the Club’s website were urged to do so.

Margie discussed the new Bylaws of the Club requirement to elect two Directors to the Board each year. Elected Directors serve a three-year term.  The Directors in turn elect a president each Spring who appoints officers serving during their term as President.  She related that the Board also reviews and approves the annual budget of the club.  Note: The beginning of the fiscal year is April 1.

There was some discussion about donations to charities.  President Ledgerwood stated that such donations need to be made within the confines of the Club’s approved Budget.

There being no further business or announcements the Meeting was closed.

Several enjoyed staying for a few hands of Euchre and the hospitality of the Shearer’s.
